The MEDIAWAVE Foundation has been organising summer art camps for 17 years in the area of film, photography and theatre. In 2006 the camp expanded with the first MEDIAWAVE Summer Music Workshop that was based on the experiences of the International Music Workshops of MEDIAWAVE Festivals that have been organised since 2004. With conduct of world famous musicians (William Parker, Hamid Drake, Rob Brown, Chris Potter, Michel Montanaro) exciting performances were born with the participation of musicians from the neighbouring countries.
The summer workshop in 2006 was led by István Grencsó (Hungary) and Gal Gjurin (Slovenia) with the involvement of Hungarian and Slovanian musicians. As the result of the cooperation the participants have had more collective performances.

For the workshops we expect young Czech-Hungarian-Austrian-Slovakian-Polish musicians as applicants with at least middle preparadness in music who are opened for cooperation with musicians from other countries. The above-mentioned music categories of the workshops rather mean the music genres of the teachers. Our aim is to ensure - even to initiate - the permeability among the music genres for the participants. That’s why it could happen that one play in a jazz formation to the tune of a song but at the same time he/she also perform in an ethnorock formation.

The application deadline is 10 July. You can apply with filling the attached application form and sending us an own CD by post or MP3 by e-mail. We will send you our answer about your application and possible participation on 10 July at the latest. Please apply long before the deadline to help us in deciding the list of participants earlier and thus you will get our answer also before 10 July.

The fee for participation is 40 EUR / person for the first three days that contains the meal three times a day as well. We will ensure campsite for free.
The participation for the second half of the workshop is free but only for those who will be chosen by the teachers.
Basic condition for the participation is the own instrument and amplifier.
The camp concentrates on the professional work and does not ensure pedagogic control. Those young people are awaited who are willing to learn and not just have holiday and are fanatic enough for presenting their own talent.

-first day: in the morning - arriving, setting up the tent; in the afternoon – musical introduction of the teachers and students, forming the musical groups, starting the rehearsals
-second day: in the morning and afternoon - rehearsals in different formations, in the evening – presentation of the accomplished performances
-third day: in the morning and afternoon - rehearsals in different formations, in the evening – presentation of the accomplished performances

29-31 July, 2007 Pula (little village next to the Lake Balaton)
in the framework of the Valley of Arts Festival (one of the biggest festivals in Hungary)
-fourth day: in the morning – arriving to Pula, takeover the tents, in the afternoon – rehearsals, at night - concerts
(organisers of Valley of Arts Festival ensure accomodation in military tents and also meal tickets for the 35 members of the music workshops (teachers, organisers, workers and the best students of the first three days)
-fifth day: in the morning and afternoon - rehearsals in different formations, in the evening – presentation of the accomplished performances on the small stage
-sixth day: in the morning and afternoon - rehearsals in different formations, in the evening – closing gala on the big stage
