SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEK 2008/15. 26th of May - 01th of June 2008 / 22st week
Dear Spectator,
Our weekly selection is made up of films and photos made during PASSPORT CONTROL 5 International Film and Photo Workshop.
Briefly about PASSPORT CONTROL:
The first two editions of the workshop were realized within the framework of MEDIAWAVE Festival in 2006 and 2007. The aim was to help young filmmakers and photographers from different countries to establish cultural co-operation with each other, thus to get them prepared finding coproductional parttners, which is essential nowadays in Europe, beacuse it can also help to demolish iron curtain still remaining in the cultural sphere, and in the way of thinking holding back Hungarian and Eastern-European artists from showing themselves or applying for grants in Europe.
The very first editions got so popular that they have participants from all around the world from Portugal to Hong Kong, from Novosibirsk to Tehran, thus providing definitely an international backgorunf dor coproductions. The participants of the workshop were selected our from the applicants by their synopsis they had sent it earlier. Most of the applied works were plans of short fictions and experimental films. A team from Bucarest consisting of some filmmaker and photographer students and their teacher, Radu made experiments crossing the genres of photography and moving picture.
The workshop's success got so well-known, it has been invited by two other international film festivals, thus the 3rd edition of it was realized in Novosibirsk in September, 2007 (thank for the support of "MEETINGS IN SIBERIA" International Documentary Film Festival). Then the 4th edition of PASSPORT CONTROL was organized in Kars, a mainly Kurdish populated town in East-Turkey within the framework of "FESTIVAL ON WHEEL" 13th Festival of European Films.
This time you can watch the films and photos made during the latest edition of the workshop, which ended on 3 May. (Meanwhile we are preparing for the next edition of the workshop in Palics within the frameworks of ETNOFEST.)
You can watch the films and photos made in the former workshops by clicking here!
Most of the films you can see below aren't ready yet, they need more postwork, the 9 day long workshop isn't enough for it. That's why the filmmakers would be glad to hear / read your opinion on their films, thus they would use your advice in completing their works.
