But cailleach bhearra was dependant on this one thing... Every 100 years she must return to the water, for as soon as ever she bathed herself, her youth was renewed and she became again a young girl...

Naomi comes to film from a background in Fine Art Sculpture. She graduated from NCAD in 1988, with installation work that used animated films and projectors as sculpture. She lived in New York for 10 years, working on film and video productions including documentaries for PBS television, educational videos for Cornell University, and co-producing activist videos and installations with Paper Tiger TV.

Her early experimental animations exhibited at the Irish Film Institute, the Dublin Fringe Festival, and the New York International Video and New Media Festival. Since 2000, together with Metropolitan Films, Naomi has made several short
animations. TWILIGHT 2000, screened at festivals in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Derry, Wales and Manchester, and broadcast in Ireland and on SBS TV in Sydney Australia. REHY FOX 2002, screened at Cork Film Festival Ireland, Anima 2003 Brussels, Tehran Iran, Dresden Germany, Oberhaussen Germany, Seattle U.S.A., Melbourne and Sydney Australia, Rio de Janeiro and Sao paulo, Brazil, Galway Film Fleadh Ireland, KROK in Ukraine, Atlantic Film Festival Novia Scotia, Kinofilm Manchester, Foyle Film Festival Derry, Bradford England, Braunschweig Germany, Sienna, Italy and Bilbao Spain. It also screened as a short before the feature "Man without a Past" in cinemas around Ireland. "AMONG STRANGERS' 2005, screened at the Galway Film Fleadh and Feile Beochan in Ireland, AIFF in Alaska, TIFF in Albania, and Nashville in USA. It won BEST ANIMATION at the Aubagne International Film Festival in France and got a nomination for BEST ANIMATION at the Birds-eye-view festival in London. It was also screened in Bergamo Italy, Swaziland Africa, and in Hiroshima as part of a ‘best in world’ programme. Most recently An Cailleach Bhéarra 2007, screened at the Galway Film Fleadh and at the Cork Film Festival in October where it got a special mention in Best Irish Short Film category.
